CLINICAL SUPERVISION
What is Clinical Supervision?
Clinical social work supervision is a learning experience that builds on the generalist knowledge of a Licensed Master Social Worker. The supervision process opens the generalist social worker’s knowledge base to clinical practice involving the assessing, diagnosing, and treating of mental health disorders utilizing the DSM-5-TR. Clinical supervision is a state requirement for social workers to practice independently (i.e., private practice). Clinical supervision is conducted in either a group or individual setting with a Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council approved clinical supervisor.
