Create The Life That Brings You Happiness!

It’s okay for people to not agree with the decision you make to create a healthier happier life for yourself.

Just as you wouldn’t stop eating your favorite food because someone doesn’t like it, don’t stop creating a HAPPY YOU because someone doesn’t like it.

Often times we allow ourselves to be overpowered by instant gratification that isn’t so gratifying. We tend to take on guilt , shame, and fear that others bring because it’s what we feel instantly and what “makes sense” in that moment. One example is allowing others to introduce shame , fear, and guilt into YOUR mind for things YOU want to do or change to create a happier version of yourself. You feel the emotions above instantly and take ownership of them because you don’t feel or see the happiness that you want to create instantly or in that moment.

This type of thinking can lead to lifelong challenges with experiencing happiness. Be mindful of your thoughts and don’t allow them to hinder your growth!

World Mental Health Day!!

Today is World Mental Health Day. Although many people aren’t aware, this day is important whether it’s to provide additional support to a loved one who is suffering with a mental illness, or whether it’s to allow yourself to give more attention to your mental health. Depression and anxiety are the most common mentioned mental health challenges. Both are not curable, but both are manageable. Symptom management is important and therapy is a very effective method to learn how to manage symptoms of depression and anxiety. If you or a loved one are seeking therapy, don’t be afraid or embarrassed to seek the help you deserve! You have the courage it takes, and we will be with you every step of your journey!

Therapy Redefined........Introduction to "The Studio" Experience

I often think about what people see on T.V., what they’ve been told, and even what they may have experienced in the past with regard to therapy. My hope is that none of the above mentioned experiences prevents someone from holding on to their strength and pushing forward with creating a healthier, happier version of themselves. I think the most important aspect of therapy is the THERAPEUTIC RELATIONSHIP! Think about it….. no one wants to set out on a journey to create a healthier version of themselves, and haven’t developed a sense of trust or connection with the person who will be on this journey with them. Yes, we are professionals, and yes we are dedicated to your progress, but we are caring humans with awesome personalities that we want to show in session so you can feel comfortable with who we truly are. We want you to be comfortable being you and we can professionally be ourselves too! So, I hope this redefines and creates an idea of what therapy would be like at Studio 4-1-1 Counseling & Consulting. Once you enter “The Studio” it your time to embrace who you are while working through challenges and developing lifelong skills!
